General Case¶
Direct effects hold \(w,r\) fixed, with \(P=c\) and task elasticity \(\eta>0\). The results describe pure automation: only newly automated tasks change technique.
Race Results: definitions and equilibrium¶
The race model fixes \(K,L\), lets prices adjust, and sets \(\eta=1\), \(a_K(i)=1\), and output price one, with increasing \(a_L(i)\).

Derivatives fix \(K,L\) and productivity schedules. For the frontier experiments, assume a binding automation frontier and productive new tasks (\(g_I,g_N>0\)).
